Serving and saving

Is there any mightier symbol of Australian life than the beach? Probably not.

Last November, 2015, my book on Bunbury’s Surf Lifesaving Club, was formally launched at the club. A Watch On The Waves: A Story of the First 100 Years of the City of Bunbury Surf Lifesaving Club was a tribute to the men and women, boys and girls, who across the decades have given so much time and effort to make our beaches safer. This means not only Bunbury itself but also the many surf clubs in the South West that the city has helped.

Heritage, humour and wave after wave of contribution by club members were key aspects of the book.

It was a collaborative effort in which I was delighted, personally and professionally, to have played a part.
