Ian McLeod: Chance and Challenge
This biographical work, completed in 2015, covered the life of a man born in rural Western Australia, the youngest of nine children. He grew up during the Depression and lived through war and peace while establishing himself, with his wife, Dawn, as head of a family of five sons. Ian, who spent years as a police officer, wondered initially “why on earth anyone would write about my ordinary life.” In fact there proved to be a lot to tell, including his grandfather’s emigration from mid-19th-century Scotland. |
